Default Website speed affecting SEO (Matt Cutt)

Well this certainly is new, Google's Matt Cutt in his recent interview said that google has never before given importance to speed of website. But now its going to be one of important factor while considering PR & also Google’s much discussed Algorithm update (Caffeine), which was recently found to begin rolling out soon. Watch out guys google has added new rules to this game triumphing speed over relevant content? Well certainly relevant content will always be the prior thing to take into consideration while Ranking the site but what is there is two sites having same relevant content and backlinks certainly speed will be considered then...seeing that there are over 200 factors influencing PR, where does Speed matter for PR in google ranks? , its become more interesting and you need to be a pro to play it. Thats true, if you are a good Search Engine Optimizer this should not affect you in the long run. You need to stick to the basics such as logical unique content, backlinks from niche high authority websites etc.
But first you need to observe the changes that are happening. Check your keywords that have dropped rankings, find the difference between your website and your competitors website and then make relevant tweaks in your webpages.

I am sure by keeping a close watch on the SERP's for keywords can help you determine what Google is expecting.

yup i agree with both Admin and Nicholas, if you are a good optimiser you need not worry cause you can guess what google wants from you. Ah if you r just a second grade loser which i know many now a days who just likes to copy paste article, blog post and comments even forum. it will really be hard for them. Like i said before its only going to get tuff.

I Would agree at some part that If you SEO well for your websites you need not worry. This cannot be completely true , I guess the Servers play an important role in SEO and now it is also supported by the Google.

SEO Servers are meant for the same purpose

Everyone who has a website would want it to be shown on the first page of the search results. Hence considering this, many web hosting companies have started offering SEO Servers. Besically SEO dedicated servers load faster than those hosted on standard servers, something that search engines are more likely to appreciate it. Google Caffeine the more spoken topic these days, have started giving more importance to website's that load faster. Therefore inaddition to the other aspects of SEO, faster and reliable servers too have become equally important.

    Thumbs down

Has he mentioned what is the perfect speed for loading a webpage? I think nobody can determine that, this is just ridiculous to all web-masters.

As Google is considering the website speed now, any web server that offers optimum speed and performance would be much beneficial and considered good for SEO purpose. Hey kelvintrinity, may i know what updates google have done in their Algorithm. I think Google never disclose their algorithm of rating a website.
