You said that Hyper-V's predecessor was Virtuozoo. Do you think that Hyper-V got its name because of its predecessors name? I have always wondered why they call it that.

Nope. Virtuozzo is a Software virtualization application which is a product of Parallels, whereas, Hyper-V is a Hardware virtualization application which is a product of Microsoft. The only similarity between them is that they are virtualization applications and everything apart from this is different i.e. the technology, the functioning and the features offered are different from each other.

Hence, they are not concerned with each other and Virtuozzo cannot be called as a predecessor of Hyper-V.

    Default Interesting.

Craig O is right although I bet you got that info from reading a wiki out on the web. There are a lot of wikis that have incorrect information when it comes to this sort of stuff. Now you have me curious. Why is it called Hyper-V VPS? Why not Hyper-VPS?
