Alpha reseller hosting plans are Reseller hosting plans which can be used to create both Reseller hostig plans as well as Shared hosting plans. Master reseller hosting plans only allow creation of Shared hosting plans.

Why the general consensus of hosting communities to stay away from hosts that offer with Alpha Reseller? How is it any worse than Master Reseller?

Most of the hosting companies do not offer Alpha reseller hosting plans as the management of these plans becomes very difficult and the owners of Alpha reseller hosting plans resell hosting services to Resellers which are further sold to customers of Shared hosting plans. Offering support to end users becomes a problem in this case and the security is also affected due to which most of the hosting providers do not offer Alpha reseller hosting plans.

If anybody wants any such extra features with Reseller Hosting package then he can openly have a discussion with the sales staff of that Hosting provider. There is no use by renaming the total hosting in such way by showing some different features.

Are all web hosting types are predefined? what if few web hosting services provider claims that they have invented something new? Is there any official authority to approve such inventions and announce that particular separate web hosting type which is totally different than others?

I don't think there is any such authority but for sure the above attempt of showing that 'Alpha Reseller Hosting' different than the Normal Reseller Web Hosting was just a promotional attempt.

May be it is a promotional kind of tactics or may be not, but one thing I can surely say alpha reseller hosting plans would create a lot of complications to primary web host while serving hosting services to reseller.
