    Default Distributed Denial of Service

It stands for 'Distributed Denial of Service' where multiple computers are used to attack a single computer so that it cause denial of service for its users.

Let me remind you the recent incident about DDOS as 'LiveJournal' was the victim of a DDoS attack yesterday, resulting in several hours of downtime.

The most important thing is how to prevent such kind of attacks.....Usually hardware firewalls are suggested for this concerned issue and the best firewalls are Cisco, Juniper and Barracuda. Generally, reliable web host configure hardware firewall on each physical server to prevent DDOS attacks....However, nothing is 100% secure, but at least it reduces the chance of attacks.....

There are many reasons why people are able to perform DDos attacks on the server. The vulnerable softwares and applications may lead to the DDos attack. Other possibilities that might lead the DDos attacks are open network setup, network or system setup without worrying about security, ignoring monitoring systems and data analysis. Security must be at the priority list as it helps to make your website and server secure.
