Default Avoiding downtime while shifting to another host?

    Hi all

Is it possible to avoid any downtime when changing a web hosting provider and shifting the website to a newer server. I would be happy it this is possible by anyway.

    Hello,

While moving to a new webhost, your webite/s will face certain amount of downtime.
Once the data and files gets migrated onto a new server, you will need to update the nameservers. Nameservers propagation usually takes about 24-36 hours before your website/s gets like live.

FYI, migration time also depends on the amount of data that you have.

A few important things before migrating to another host is to take a full backup of your data, database and email accounts on your local machine. Secondly, to play a safe game, you should take multiple backups and place them on different locations. Also, one should not delete the old web hosting account until the new hosting account is well set.
