I suppose Whois is the right tool for this purpose. But, I think it is not possible to find such information when domain owners enable the privacy protection on their domains.

Just check if the domain owner has enabled the privacy protection.

I also have seen this happening when using Whois in some cases though. The information is not available, I just came to know that the domain owner can enable privacy protection on their domains. Good information.

Very true that the domain owner can set up a privacy in the same regards, but it has been generally observed that the same is not done. Very big brands prefer doing it because of the certainty of your business stability.

Registering for a domain is one of the most basic aspects of developing a site, yet at the same time, it can be vital to a site's success. If ranking high on search engines such as Google is of high priority, then it would be advisable to register an "exact match domain". For example, if a web surfer were to search for the keyword "domain registration", then examples of an exact match domain would be domainregistration.com or domainregistration.biz.

    thanks,

    Hello Adolfina,

Certainly, whois is a good tool to look up the domains registration information. But if a domain name is privacy protected, then you won't be able to view the domain's contact details. Most of the domain registrars provide ID protection with domain names. In such case, the whois details for the domain registrant remain hidden and the details are replaced with the Privacy protection details.

By looking at the WHOIS information of the domain name, you may locate the registrar of that particular website. Exception in the case, if the domain privacy is enabled against the domain name.

Also, the hosting provider's add an option like 'Domain checker' on their websites, through which you can check the availability of the domain name.
