    Still have not used it but according the official sources the amazing speed of 4.8 Gbps will be supported by USB 3.0 and which is 10 times greater than the USB 2.0 which's maximum speed limit is 480 Mbps.

    Yes, It is. it also provide the facility of 'Full-duplex data transfers and support for new transfer types'

    Yes it requires 'new cable and new host adapter'. Very similar as we upgrade USB 1.1 to 2.0, the new connectors and cables of the USB 3.0 are ok with the few years old hardware.
