It seems that the PC you are using is quite older one, such error is found on PCs which have old configuration of USB hubs.

I think you can get rid from this error without upgrading processor or RAM part of your system. You just need to change your USB hub.

Yes, Oliver is right, you just need to upgrade your PCI USB 2.0 card with which you will receive a driver CD to get USB 2.0 on your computer. I hope this should solve your problem.

I guess your PC has USB 1.1 ports which are too slow for the latest Flash Drives (Pen Drives) and other external type of devices like DVD RW / portable hard drives. New generation USB 2.0 is compatible for almost all the external devices which are connected through USB.

USB 3.0 is already in the market but I suspect the driver capabilities with old type hardware. Do anybody has any information over this.

Yes it requires 'new cable and new host adapter' which is different than the typical USB 2.0

Very similar as we upgrade USB 1.1 to 2.0, the new connectors and cables of the USB 3.0 are ok with the few years old hardware, but you won't be able to enjoy the full speed potential of the USB 3.0 until you connect the cables to prior ports made for it.
