    Question Change Image format?

How to change a Image/Picture from Bitmap to JPEG? Does it require any software?

I use a very simple way to do this, I just change the extension of the file manually.

    Example : 123.bmp (original file)

I just change the extension to 123.jpeg

Noooo, never do that, your file may get corrupted forever and could not be recovered.

Yes Oliver is right. Changing the extension of any file manually is not a recommended. Following is a simple method for it.

Open MS-Paint >> open the image/picture you want to change format of.

Go to Menu >> File >> Save As

In 'File Name' give the name you want and in 'Save as type' Select the new format you want.

If you might wanna use this method to change the type of the file, you should always have the back up file with you. As the above is not a trusted and reliable method to do the same.

This is totally wrong way to change a files type and it may cause to corruption of that particular file.
