KVM is for free of cost and it is also capable of fulfilling all requirements of small websites so I would go for it if my requirements are limited ones.

I like OpenVZ because of its abilities of Resize Disk and it does not require rebooting after upgrades.

It also has lower overhead for its 'shared kernel' this help for performance enhancement.

In few of the surveys I found on internet, KVM machines responds and run faster than those running on VMWare, so I would prefer KVM.

I agree with this as according RedHat, KVM has the ability to support five VMs for each three running on VMware on the same hardware base.

The configuration options in KVM are somehow better than that of Xen. Even though, implementation of Xen is complected as compared to rest of the others. Personally I'd prefer KVM because of its classic and faster nature.

Found some information over OpenVz and it is the best platform for running Linux based operating systems like Centos, Fedora Gentoo and Debian.

VMware is known as the best supporting to Microsoft applications so for windows users it is the best one, though I find many webmaster complaining about absense of drag and drop facility with VMs.

From the above options, my vote goes to VMWare. The reason for this is the fact that all the other virtualization applications are software based virtualization applications, however, VMWare is based on Hardware virtualization which makes things better for the users.

VMWare does support Microsoft based applications, however, it's the best option for Linux based applications. If a user needs Windows based applications, Hyper-V provided by Microsoft is a better option.
