    Lightbulb /usr partition 90 %

The /usr partiton on the server is showing up 90% filled up. I have cleared logs as well as domlogs but no success, it still shows up 90%. What are the steps taken to resolve this issue.

    Just for an update.
Mail queue is stored in /var/spool/exim/input so if you clear mail queue then it will empty the space in /var not in /usr

    Hello,

Give du -sh * under /usr folder, it will show bigger size folder. Generally local and lib folder are bigger in size. Get into /usr/local/apache and then check bigger size files/folder

If there is no such folder using alots disk space then wait for few minutes and check it again.

If still problem persists then you need reboot the server. But try avoiding to reboot the server.

    With regards,
    vivek.

Thanks for showing my mistake(or providing me the information).
    A real big mistake.
    Anyway,
    /usr/local/apache/logs
    and
    /usr/local/apache/domlogs
contains all the big log files.

    Hello,

You can also remove the core.XXXX (core.AnyNoHere) NOT CORE.PHP files from the following place if you have the cpanel server.

    /usr/local/cpanel/base/horde/imp/core.XXXX
    /usr/local/cpanel/base/horde/core.XXXX

If you have tomcat installed on the server then you can search for the big logs file here in tomcat folder.
    /usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/logs/
But after that you need to restart the tomcat service.

Also you can locate some of the unwanted tar.gz file in /usr partition and can remove that from there.

    /usr/local/apache/htdocs/*.tar.gz

I hope that can make enough place there for you.

    Enjoy..
    Jayesh.M.
