    If the messages are in encrypted format then they are excluded and you miss those alerts.

    All modern versions of Outlook Express comes with the option 'display a notification when new message arrives'.

    Well as I saw the discussion above is going on, Let me reveal that 'Outlook' and 'Outlook Express' are two different things.

    Yes, they are different , I was not aware of this, Thanks for sharing this, I surprised that nobody came mention this before.

    Its not a new or secret thing for me you both are reveling here, almost everybody should have been knowing that they are much different than each other.

    But Raj was clearly talking about 'Outlook Express' and you was telling him the drawbacks of 'Outlook'.

    Thosugh many people think that Outlook Express is better than the normal Outlook but synching abilities of Outlook are better than Outlook Express when it is used for portable devices such as Loptops and Notebooks.

    Now both of them are replaced by 'Windows Mail' with the latest operating systems Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    Actually they are not the same 'Windows Mail' and 'Windows Live Mail' are different with both operating systems you mentioned.

    But still one can use Outlook or Outlook express on these modern operating systems if he/she feels more comfortable with the.
